This year I had Baking as one of my free electives. At the end of the second semester final exams came up. For baking, the final exam was to present and make a food item in front of the class. My partner and I had decided to make Idle Hand Bars. Here is a link for the recipe.
In order to prepare for the presentation, we had decided to meet up and do a run through of how to make it. There were some complications so we took notes and changes on what and not to do. We also divided tasks and talked about what each of us would say.
After doing a couple practices, I thought about what to do if their is the dreaded awkward silence. In order to eliminate that from happening we both came up with some jokes and fun facts. That idea came from when we had a presenter that was in culinary school, cook something for the class. He would always tell jokes to engage the class or show and explain what he was doing. From watching the presenter I had decided to voice out my thought process when it came time to present. It was taking mental notes and ideas from the college presenter that made the final a lot easier.
